Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo was founded in 1888, making it the first zoological park in the Southwest. The park covers 106 developed acres! The giant giraffe sculpture marking the Zoo’s entrance is 67½ feet tall! The Zoo is divided into Zoo North and Wilds of Africa and is separated by a tunnel. The zoo now is home to 7,000 native and exotic animals and has been named as a top zoo in the nation by Family Life magazine, the Los Angeles Times.

Six Flags over Texas
Six Flags Over Texas was the first amusement park in the Southwest. The park sits on 206 acres of land and has over 100 rides. The New Texas Giant, The Texas SkyScreamer and Superman are some of the most popular rides. This park is the perfect spot to spend your weekends!

The State Fair of Texas
The State Fair of Texas is an annual state fair held in Dallas at historic Fair Park. It usually begins the last Friday in September and ends 24 days later. The fair claims an annual attendance of over two million visitors through ticket scanning. The State Fair of Texas is considered one of the best in America as well as Dallas’ signature event.

The Dallas Mavericks (NBA)
The Dallas Mavericks (often referred to as the Mavs) are an American professional basketball team based in Dallas. The Mavericks compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the American Airlines Center.

Dallas Cowboys (NFL)
The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The team is headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and has been playing its home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, since its opening in 2009.

UTA is a public research university in Arlington, Texas. The university was founded in 1895 and is a part of the University of Texas System.

TCU is a private 4-year college located in Fort Worth Texas. This university has been ranked very high in academics and their sports teams are big competitors in the Big 12 Conference.

Texas Tech University
Founded in 1923 Texas Tech is known for its large campus and competitive sports teams and high ranked academic programs. The Health Sciences Center School of Nursing was ranked the best nursing school in Texas!
